Each design decision,
All unfold within the space.

616 X Maizi Beef Hotpot Bar & Restaurant, located in Hong Kong, is a commercial interior design project. The design responds to the dining environment’s needs for atmosphere and operational efficiency by organising seating arrangements, circulation and dining zones to provide a comfortable environment and support daily service delivery. Materials, lighting and interior finishes are used to introduce visual interest while maintaining brand identity, balancing hospitality requirements with practical operational considerations.

Use feature walls and sculptures to shape the spatial atmosphere

The design team sought to create an engaging setting that offers customers a place to relax. The entrance features a wood‑grain wall with illuminated Chinese characters "Eat, Drink and Be Merry" and a red bull sculpture; these visual elements add character to the space and help establish the restaurant's overall atmosphere and brand identity.

Plan seating and circulation to support daily operational needs

Seating layout, circulation planning and the dining area were specifically designed. The space features green leather banquettes and wooden dining tables, with metal mesh partitions delineating zones. The arrangement is intended to provide a comfortable dining environment while supporting daily service flow to meet the demands of a busy operation.

Select materials and feature lighting to add visual interest.

By selecting specific materials, lighting and interior finishes, warmth is introduced to the space. Feature pendants are suspended above the dining area and, together with the overall layout, these design details aim to reinforce the restaurant's brand identity while balancing hospitality needs with operational considerations.
